Watch Anna Wintour Compile The September Issue

If The Devil didn't wear enough Prada for you, then tag along with filmmaker R.J. Cutler who spent 8 months chronicling American Vogue EIC, Anna Wintour, and her team as they were preparing September 2007, the biggest issue ever.

"My observation with the creativity in the hallways and offices is that Vogue is like the mist," Cutler recently told WWD. "You don't think it's raining and all of a sudden you're soaking wet."

Some of the fashion insiders interviewed included Thakoon Panichgul, Oscar de la Renta, Patrick Demarchelier, Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquière (above), Jean Paul Gaultier, Stefano Pilati, Phillip Lim and Isabel Toledo. After culling 300 hours of footage, Cutler's movie explores Vogue's work process, Wintour's relationships with her late father, British newspaper editor Charles Wintour, daughter Bee Shaffer, and Creative Director Grace Coddington, who initially participated only begrudgingly. "She couldn't throw us out of the building because she's not the boss. Anna's the boss and she had invited us in. But she was unhappy to see us. And when Grace is unhappy to see you, that's not the place anyone wants to be. God bless her, she [eventually] gave us a chance."

When the film premiered at Sundance, studio execs gave the crammed lineup of films about love, politics, and humanity a miss, instead shelling out several hundred dollars per ticket for the hottest ticket in town: fashion. Although she was running late, Wintour finally showed up for a screening the following afternoon, she was "channeling mountain casual," she explained to WWD. "It is actually my first time wearing jeans to work" - J Brand, with a turtleneck by her perennial fave Oscar de la Renta, boots by Manolo Blahnik, and a fox-trimmed Michael Kors jacket.  Only on this mountain could this who's-who of designer labels be consider "casual."
